visualante oversees launch of Discovery's new network Velocity

visualante lead the creative effort in the overall development of all on air marketing and new network graphics for Velocity, Discovery's newest network gear to the upscale male viewer.  visualante worked side by side with production and creative giants, Impossible, who were chosen to handle the execution of all production, editorial and graphics.  The end product was a cleverly designed set of spots including long lead teasers, a brand spot and network IDs, plus a complete on air network graphics package.  On launch day Velocity posted record ratings based on ratings from it's predecessor HD Theater.  

Now visulante is tasked with producing all the network on air marketing moving forward and into the upcoming 2012 upfront season.  More to come!

A bizarre case in the ER

For Discovery Health's newest series, Bizarre ER, we were asked to shoot a scene showcasing doctors going through a range of emotions after working on a strange case in the emergency room.  The idea was to promote the extreme cases from the show without showing too much of the actual footage, which can be quite gross.  The end results was a clever blend that should arouse viewers curiosity.

visualante puts Detroit in Overdrive

 A very fun and simple concept to create a visually optimistic spot driving to Planet Green's new mini series, Detroit in Overdrive.  Lots of time lapse footage shot on Red and Canon 5D from various rooftops in Detroit.  Talent included an up and coming band who's music is featured in the spot and who will appear in the mini series showcasing their Detroit based record label.

Lou Diamond Phillips enjoying the high life with some US Veterans

We've been rubbing elbows with a few celebs lately.  First we got to work with Lou Diamond Phillips who is also the host of the MIlitary Channel's, An Officer and a Movie.  We shot Lou spending time and drinking beer with some real veterans of our US Armed Forces in this short form spot sponsored by MIller High Life.  The end result was a very casual piece that was extremely well received by both the network and Miller High Life.  We lost count of the number of beers consumed by the end of the shoot.

Buster drives off into Florida sunset

We took a trip down to Florida with Buster from Discovery's MythBuster series.  He took some time off from his destructive schedule to show off his driving skills on the new Cub Cadet riding mower.  We had to come up with a few tricks during the shoot to make Buster look like a pro but he proved to be quite the trooper.  By the way, can you spot the double?

visualante goes Inside West Coast Customs

visualante oversaw and directed all creative development and production for the launch of HD Theater's new series Inside West Coast Customs.  The project was as joint venture with Radley out of Los Angeles and included a 5D shoot at World Famous West Coast Customs with Ryan Friedlinghaus and crew.  Final on air elements included a launch spot, marathon opens and bump-ins, plus opens for the prime time premieres.  Music on all elements was provided by Rascal Flatts exclusively for Ryan's new show.  Pretty cool!
